One of my favorite cereus cacti, Forbesii Spiralis put out a beautiful flower yesterday. I notice a couple of weeks ago that she had five or six flower buds. Unfortunately, they all blasted... with the exception of this one.
I love most all cacti in the cereus genus because they have easy care/low maintenance and generally are fast growers. Spectacular blooms from these guys is also another wonderful characteristic! Forbesii Spiralis in particular are heavy bloomers.
The spiral form makes these cacti interesting year around. What a great way to end the month of July!
